

Senior Engineer – Reliability
Description
Role Objectives:
Ensuring the continued airworthiness and operational efficiency of the aircraft fleet by leading reliability monitoring, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position is
responsible for analyzing technical performance, identifying adverse trends, driving corrective
actions, and supporting the optimization of the Aircraft Maintenance schedule (AMS). The role
ensures compliance with regulatory reliability requirements and supports safety and cost effectiveness.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor the effectiveness of the approved recommendation resulting from a RAN and if
adverse trend continues to exist, re-open the investigation to develop a new recommendation to resolve the issue as needed.
- Present the issued RAN to the FRAMES Committee for approval of the recommended action during the meeting.
- Carryout the ETOPS Reliability Program requirements.
- Ensure the effectiveness of the Airplane Maintenance Schedule is frequently evaluated and analysed every quarterly FRAMES meeting.
- Ensure that the Aeroplane Maintenance Schedule tasks are effective and their periodicity is
adequate.
- Ensure that Rogue components are identified and removed from the inventory.
- Review and revise the alert levels for Delays/Cancellation, Pilot Reports (PIREPS) and Unscheduled Component removals as needed.
- Propose amendments of the airframes, engine, and component maintenance programs. These programs shall take into consideration: Fleet size, age, and airworthiness requirements to ensure aircraft safety. • Ensure the distributions of the FRAMES report in a timely manner.
- Support escalation/de-escalation analysis and AMS revision proposals based on operational data.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Program team to assess task effectiveness and operational impact.
- Lead technical reviews and investigations involving poor-performing systems or high-failurerate
components.
- Implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions in response to internal and external audit findings and for investigation recommendations. • Liaise with OEMs, vendors, and MROs for performance improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and guide junior reliability engineers or analysts and ensure quality and consistency of reliability outputs.
- Utilize reliability and maintenance systems (AMOS) for data extraction and management.
- Build and maintain data analytics tools or dashboards using Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar platforms.
- Ensure reliability program activities meet the requirements of CAA Oman and company policies.
- Provide technical data for internal audits, airworthiness reviews, and lessor/regulatory inspections.
- Contribute to the Safety Management System (SMS) with trend data and support safety investigations.
- Respond to Oman Air Departmental requests and clarification in timely manner through Engineering Service Request.
- Propose revisions to company documentation such as CAME, EPMs, and related manuals
whenever necessary.
- Undertake other duties as requested by Manager Maintenance Program, Reliability & MEL /
Functional Head Development Engineering ensuring timeliness and utmost effective in completing the assigned tasks.
- Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Management.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering field with 4 years of experience preferably in aviation Engineering and Maintenance.
- OR ICAO Type II license with minimum of 6 years of relevant experience preferably in aviation Engineering and Maintenance.
- For Non-Omani: Relevant experience should be in Aircraft Reliability Program.
PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, CERTIFICATION OR MEMBERSHIPs
- Proven expertise in aircraft reliability program.
- Attended the necessary trainings related to Reliability Program.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel Program
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Expertise in AMOS is desirable
