Job Summary:

The Construction Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of construction materials, equipment, and subcontracted services. This role ensures that all procurement activities align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards, supporting the smooth execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage procurement activities for construction materials, equipment, and services in accordance with project requirements.

• Prepare and issue RFQs, evaluate bids, negotiate terms, and finalize purchase orders and subcontracts.

• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.

• Review technical specifications and drawings to ensure purchased materials meet required standards.

• Source and develop a reliable vendor and subcontractor base; maintain vendor evaluations and performance records.

• Monitor and track deliveries to ensure timely arrival and compliance with project schedules.

• Assist in preparing and managing procurement budgets and cost-saving initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and legal regulations.

• Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and documentation.

• Support quality inspections and resolve any supply issues, delays, or discrepancies.

• Participate in regular project meetings to provide procurement updates.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) or a related field.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in procurement within the construction or engineering sector.

• Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, and procurement procedures.

• Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, SAP, Oracle).

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

• Knowledge of contract terms, commercial law, and supply chain practices is a plus.
