Death and Decay by Lush is a stark, haunting white-floral perfume with an earthy edge.
It opens with heady jasmine and lily, lush and narcotic, almost overripe—like flowers left too long in warm air. There’s a humid, green sharpness beneath, suggesting crushed stems and sap rather than fresh bouquets.
As it develops, the sweetness darkens. The florals feel wilting, indolic, and slightly animalic, evoking petals browning at the edges. A faint soil-like, composted undertone creeps in, giving the scent its signature “decay” character without ever becoming dirty or smoky.
The drydown is quiet but persistent: soft white flowers clinging to skin, ghostly and intimate, balanced between beauty and rot. It smells like a vase of lilies in a shadowed room—still gorgeous, but undeniably mortal.
